This year was the 27th occurrence of the Tennis Ball, co-produced by the Virginia Peninsula Rotary Club and An Achievable Dream. It is a fundraising event to benefit the unusually successful educational program for at-risk students from the third grade through high school. This time we moved to a new venue--still in the Hampton Roads Convention Center, but downstairs in the larger halls.
We Rotarians begin work on the Tennis Ball months in advance, but for the event itself our work begins the day before, assembling and arranging the silent auction items.

This time the dining hall was large enough that the automobiles to be auctioned off could be included in the same space.

he silent auction hall, also immense, was alive with participants.

This photograph shows some of the Virginia Peninsula Rotary Club members that attended this year's Tennis Ball. Sponsorships and auction items brought in by the Peninsula Club contributed more than $38,000 to the charity.
