Chartered in 1976, the Virginia Peninsula Rotary Club is thrilled to continue its legacy of “Service Above Self”. We are an unselfish club with big hearts. Our focus has always been to take care of the needs of our community both locally and globally.
Our largest fundraiser event is the Tennis Ball, supporting An Achievable Dream. In addition, we support the Salvation Army “ring the bell” program, Rise Against Hunger, Mayor’s Book Club, Smart Beginnings, American Cancer Society, the Boundless Playground at Deer Park, and countless other projects. We provide scholarships to Thomas Nelson Community College and Christopher Newport University. We work very closely with our Interact Students of An Achievable Dream Academies, and the Rotaract students of Christopher Newport University and Rotaract 757.
Our international partnership with Rotary Clubs in Costa Rica aided in, among other things, the installation of water purification and sanitation systems that enhance the quality of life for thousands of children. We have just completed a Rotary Foundation Global Grant to help farmers in central Costa Rica. We fully support the Polio Plus program, the purpose of which is to eradicate polio from the earth.
We follow our Rotary 4-Way Test of: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? We also make being in rotary fun and exciting. Our motto this year is “Rotary Opens Opportunities.” Each one of us can be an inspiration to our community and throughout the world. Come join us for lunch, fellowship, and listen to a great speaker. We meet at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Hampton on Wednesdays from noon to 1pm. We’d love for you to join our club!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Adam Duncan
