Chartered in 1976, the Virginia Peninsula Rotary Club is thrilled to continue its legacy of “Service Above Self”.  We are an unselfish club with big hearts.  Our focus has always been to take care of the needs of our community both locally and globally.

Our largest fundraiser event is the Tennis Ball.  Our club supports An Achievable Dream, the Salvation Army “ring the bell” program, Stop the Hunger Now, Mayor’s Book Club, Smart Beginnings, American Cancer Society, and the Boundless Playground at Deer Park.  We provide sponsorships to the YMCA and the Star Achievers.  We provide scholarships to Thomas Nelson Community College and Christopher Newport University.  We work very closely with our Interact Students of Peninsula Catholic High School and the Rotaract students of Christopher Newport University.

Our international partnership with Rotary Clubs in Costa Rica aided in the installation of water purification and sanitation systems that enhance the quality of life for thousands of children.  Our members recently returned from a trip to Costa Rica and are planning to return this year to start a global project there.   We support the Polio Plus program 100%. The purpose of this program is to eradicate polio.

We follow our Rotary 4-Way Test of:  Is it the truth?  Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships?  Will it be beneficial to all concerned?   We also make being in rotary fun and exciting.  Our motto this year is “Be a Gift to the World”.  Each one of us can be a gift to our community and throughout the world.   Come join us for lunch, fellowship, and listen to a great speaker.  We meet at the Sentara Careplex in Hampton on Wednesdays from noon to 1pm.  We’d love for you to join our club!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Diana Gulotta
